About Us

The Puffing Billy is part of a growing Devon based Hotel and Restaurant group set up by Andrew Younger and Gary Tubb in 2008. We also own and operate the 28 bedroom White Hart Hotel in Moretonhampstead, in the heart of Dartmoor (www.whitehartdartmoor.co.uk). We were delighted to acquire The Puffing Billy in September 2009 and fully intend to continue to add to the excellent reputation that has been created by many of the current kitchen and front of house team.

Our Head Chef is Darren Broom who has worked at The Puffing Billy for 4 years and is responsible for much of the excellent food reputation that has been built up in the restaurant.

Both Andrew and Gary have extensive experience in the Hotel, Pub and Restaurant business over the past 25 years and will be looking to add further sites to the portfolio as and when the right opportunity arises.
